Wallace Falls in the Snow

We finally got the snow that it seems the rest of the country has been getting all winter. Both Julie and I were off, so we took advantage of it and took a snow hike to Wallace Falls. To say it was a winter wonderland is an understatement. Beautiful 6 mile hike (round-trip) that crosses the north fork of the Wallace River and climbs it way up to the falls. We stopped at the lower falls picnic site (3 miles in at elevation 800 ft), ate lunch while enjoying the amazing view, and then decided to began the trip back rather than continuing another 1/2 mile to the middle falls at 1100 ft elevation, our original destination.
We brought our snowshoes, expecting more snow than there was, but we really didn't need them, as hiking conditions were not bad. WA State Park Rangers were out, keeping the trail clearly marked.

The video below is Wallace Falls (lower & middle falls) from the picnic site. The upper falls is not viewable from our location.
