We had a short visit with our newest nephew, William Simmons, today. In honor of mardi gras, we of course had to dress him up with assorted beads appropriate to the occasion. He is visiting with his mom (Julie's sister) and dad from Maryland. It was nice to see Kelly, Jason, and Pud, even if it wasn't very long. I wouldn't have seen him at all if it weren't for the fact that I have a bad sinus infection and was home sick. (I only visited for about 30 min, then went to bed, partly due to the medication kicking in and partly because I didn't want to get Will sick.) I'll see him again next week when we attend his 1st birthday party at the Everett Children's Museum. I'm looking forward to going.
Also coming to visit soon, will be my sister Sharon, and her kids Jennifer and Kevin. This is another visit I am looking forward to. They will be here March 16-20. We will be having a Easter/Christmas party as this visit was supposed to be last December for Christmas, but wasn't made due to the bad weather here at that time.
There is another pregnancy to annouce at this time. Scrappy, the Squirrel is pregnant! She visited us this week looking alot larger and showing "kitty titties" as Julie put it. I've been doing some research and red squirrels usually breed in Jan/Feb and have their babies 39 days later. So possibly any time from now we will have baby squirrels, although it might be longer before we actually see them. They stay near their dens for up to 40 days after birth. I have no idea where the den is, but it should be within her 1/2 acre territory which basically consist of the wooded area in front of our balcony. Today the male squirrel was on our balcony. This was the first time I've seen him since last November when Scrappy chased him away in a ruckus. I guess now he's part of the family, too, but he didn't trust me to give him a peanut.
